Tagline: Peri-peri flame grilled chicken Headline: Suarez, still hungry? Uvananchick? This ad has definitely managed to catch my attention with the name ‘Suarez’ in it as it refers to Liverpool football player, Luis Suarez. The word ‘Uvananchick?’ refers to biting incidents that happen in one of the matches between Liverpool and Chelsea. The phrases are definitely a clever play on words as it has manage to catch attention upon on relating a football player to their Peri Chicken. The headline itself is already an USP. Introductory paragraph: At Nando’s, there’s enough PERI-PERI flame-grilled chickens to go around for everyone. Basted in your choice of flavour. Rest assured, Suarez, you’ll never bite alone. Again the word play in the introductory paragraph is clever as it tells everyone that there are plenty of their famous Peri-Peri chicken for everyone in their signature flavors that cant be found in any other restaurant. Hence, it emphasizes on its own USP. And after stating all its selling points, it ends with a catch phrase similar to Livepool’s tagline, “You’ll never walk alone.” Overall, this ad is pretty amusing and appealing with its catch phrases and word plays that catch attention from the audiences by just a single glance. by: Irene Cheen source: Ww.enca.com, (2014).
