This is a corporate ad for Toyota. First what I like in the ad is the picture’s association with the ad. Toyota is advertising their ‘Toyota Express Maintenance’ where customers can get periodic maintenance services done in 60 minutes and assistance by the roadside anytime of the day, whether it be day or night. The picture of a marriage indicates trust, where both spouses can rely on each other in facing any problems. Their headline “Reassurance is knowing that someone that someone is there for you, no matter what” and “Toyota is there for you, for life”, further shows Toyota’s pitching for quality customer service. They also put in their unique selling point which are “60 minute express maintenance. An unmatched of 3 years or 1,000,000 kms”. The color used in the ad is a light shade of brown, making the ad not too dull or too bright. This makes the ad a little better to read than those with bright colors, which when being too bright makes people not read the ad. The fonts used in the ad are also easy to read as they are just in the perfect size for the amount of info written in there. The spacing also helps in the reading of the ad.

The message and the image on the ad really connect together. Both components are trying to show a statement, which is “trust”, a commitment that Toyota is aiming to lure its costumers. The approach towards the audience on this ad is very friendly since it depicts an everyday life situation. Moreover, the headline is also emotionally engaging, showing that Toyota is like a family, someone that is always there and someone that you can count on by providing a 24/7roadside assistance. The USP that they offer is also really engaging like “1,000,000 kms” which is really a wow statement, because it’s almost impossible for a car to reach 1,000,000 km’s that can clearly attract the audience. Creating a strong relationship with your customer is really the foundation of achieving towards success.
This ad is very unique. At a first glance, I was wondering how does Toyota related with marriage. Then, when I read the body copy of this ad, I was stunned by how brilliant the idea behind this ad is. It is showing how Toyota would commit, and will continuously provide their costumer with an everlasting kind of services. The tagline is definitely giving a heart-warming impression, that indicates trust and companion that Toyota will give to their customer. Well finding Alif !

Initially, I did not really get the message as like Ariel mentioned, how did Toyota (cars) can relate to marriage. After reading the body text, we know that they are trying to tell audiences that they can give you a lifetime promise for their services. In my opinion, they made a mistake in this. No one can ever guarantee that a marriage can be a lifetime promise. Instead, they should use other approach such a two parties signing a legal agreement or so.
Besides that, they have been telling too much in one ad. They used a marriage to tell show their promise to their customers, and at the same time their USP is about their 60minutes express car service. We have learned that telling too much means not telling anything. Maybe they can create a seperate ad that focuses on each segment.
